Beverly J. Folkes (Pendleton), 83, of Holliston, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 11, 2024following a recent diagnosis of Uterine Cancer. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Hatch) and Herbert Pendleton. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, John J. Folkes (June 2003).

Beverly worked as an administrative assistant up until her death at Programs for People, a mental health day treatment program in Framingham. She had wonderful relationships with her coworkers and clients. She was an active member at the First Baptist Church in Holliston since 1967. She enjoyed time spent at her cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. She took pleasure in traveling with her family and going out to lunch with friends. She loved watching the birds that visited her feeders. She was quite skilled at crossword puzzles and other word games. When at her cottage, she would play Scrabble or card games with family. She recently followed her heart and adopted a mischievous King Charles Cavalier, Tucker. He brought her a lot of love and kept her quite entertained.

Beverly is survived by her children, Jeanne Praetsch and her husband, Steven, of Holliston, (Maria)wife of her predeceased son, John Bradley Folkes of CantonDeborah DeGregorio and her husband, Erik, of Southborough, Brian Folkes and his wife, Kathryn, of Hebron, CT. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ashley Gerlach (David), Trevor Praetsch (Katie), Nicholas Folkes, Christina Noonan (Eddie), Yanni Folkes,  Matthew, Nathan and Meghan DeGregorio, Tyler, Olivia and Connor Folkes; her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Selah, Dorothy, Charlotte, Eleanor, and Hazel; her brother, Bruce Pendleton (Cindy) of  Lagrange, GA; her mother-in-law, Esther Folkes; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 19th at 10AM at the First Baptist Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
