Sandra H. Kittredge, 81, of Marlborough and formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the beautiful Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roland, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage, in June of 2017. Sandy was a light to all those around her, always thinking about others and how she could bring joy to their lives. Known for her genuine thoughtfulness and kindness, she delighted in creating seasonal treats, gift bags, and beautiful flower arrangements. She was also a life-long Boston Red Sox fan, following in the footsteps of her deceased mother, Rose.

Sandy dedicated her life to making others happy. She made a significant impact as a third-grade teacher at Hemenway, Stapleton, and Brophy schools in Framingham. Later, she showcased her creativity at Plaza Floral Designs in Saxonville. Her homes on Simpson Drive, in the Brookdale Community, and at Halstead Apartments were always adorned with festive holiday decorations that amazed family and friends. Wherever Sandy went, her holiday storage tubs and decorations followed, transforming each home with her touch.

Affectionately called “The Flower Lady” by Brookdale residents, Sandy had a deep passion for gardening. She found peace and joy amongst her flower beds, often seen tending to her gardens. As an active member of the Simpson Park and Pinefield Garden Clubs, she led holiday flower design workshops, sharing her expertise and love for floral arrangements. Bunches of flowers were a weekly staple on her grocery list, reflecting her lifelong passion.

Sandy is survived by her only daughter, Kimberly Taylor, and her husband, Matthew of Shrewsbury. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Courtney Marie Taylor. Sandy cherished every moment spent with Courtney, from buying her new school clothes, taking her to lunch, and watching her play softball and dance, to enjoying swims in Sandy and Roland’s pool in Framingham. These memories will be forever treasured by her family.

She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Seymour of Marlborough and Dorothy Fitch of South Yarmouth, along with her cherished nieces and nephews, dear friends, and close confidants. Sandy’s memory will live on in their hearts for all their days.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday June 9, 2024, from 3-6PM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham.

Her funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 10AM in St. George Church, 74 School St., Framingham. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Framingham.

Donations in Sandy’s memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Rose Monahan Hospice House, or Fresinius Kidney Center in Marlborough.
