Anthony Bellino, Clinical Pharmacy Manager, has been with MetroWest Medical Center for three months having come from Saint Vincent Hospital where he was for one year. He has always had a passion for helping others, and was interested in the pharmacy profession from a young age.
What Anthony likes most about his job: “As pharmacists, we are given the opportunity to be on the front line of health care, often directly interacting with patients regarding medication interventions. I enjoy being a part of the patient’s medical team, and fostering collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care,” he says.
Having the ability to see our patient’s positive health outcomes in real time, because of medication interventions is what he finds most rewarding about his career. “It’s extremely gratifying to see how a small medication change can greatly improve a patient’s overall quality of life,” Anthony explains.
He recounts a memorable experience while working at MetroWest. “We had a patient that was in urgent need of treatment due to what was presenting as a pulmonary embolism. After collaborating with the medical team, they were able to determine it was due to an aortic dissection. We provided supportive care to the medical team, and ensured appropriate medication therapy was utilized to help save the patient.”
Outside of work, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and anything related to Boston sports.
