James R. Gagen, Jr., 75, a lifelong resident of Framingham died Friday, October 27, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Framingham, he was the son of the late, James R. & Phyllis (Grant) Gagen.
Jamie attended Framingham South High School, and graduated from Framingham North High School in 1966. Always self-employed, he opened the Butcher Boy Roast Beef shop and food truck, before venturing into his long career in construction contracting.
Generous, genuine, and with a great sense of humor, Jamie seemed to know everyone wherever he went. Always outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, raising various poultry and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a proud father and grandfather.
Jamie is survived by his children, Chris & his wife Rebecca of Framingham, Sean & his wife Karen of Framingham, and Shannon & Ryan of West Brookfield, his grandchildren, Eva, Theo, Austin, Olivia, and James, his former wives Laurel (Walsh) and Candy Coolidge, his siblings, Michael & his wife Gwen and Thomas & his wife Kathy, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his brother David.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jamie’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Thursday, November 2nd from 1-5pm, followed by a celebration of life. Interment will be private.
