Jean Marie (Bagley) Brennan age 94 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023 at St Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. She was born on September 21, 1928 in Worchester to Anna Bedard & William Brennan. She resided in Framingham, Brookline, Salem and in her final years in Nahant, overlooking the ocean.
Jean was a lifelong learner. At the age of 35, she received a degree in education from Framingham State. She went on to obtain a master’s degree from Simmons and a CAGS from Harvard University. She taught elementary school in Boston, Salem, Nahant and in London. She instilled a love of reading to all her children and many of her grandchildren have fond memories of playing school in Grammy’s basement. Jean was an avid traveler, using summers and retirement years to travel across the world, visiting England, France, Germany, Russia, Australia, Egypt, and Greece many times. She was a natural tour guide and took great delight in bringing her sisters, Lorraine Comas, and Ruth Boland on trips with her later in life.
Jean is survived by her daughter Kathleen Airoldi of Naples Florida, her son Richard and his wife Marge Bagley of Norfolk, her daughter Beth and her husband Al McNeill of Stoughton and her daughter Kristan Bagley Jones of Milton. Grandmother of, Philip Airoldi of Holyoke, Julie Airoldi and husband Jim Sweeney of Amesbury, Ally Jones of Brighton, Maggie McNeill of Millis, Kate McNeill of London, England, Leanne Perlman and husband Ben Langham of Shirley, Michael Bagley of Norfolk, and Jennifer Celata of Framingham. She was predeceased by her grandchildren Jon Bagley, Sara McNeill, and Evan Jones.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jean’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday morning, August 7th in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham from 9-10:45AM. Her funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 11 o’clock. Interment in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
