Br. Eugene F. DeLauro, FMSI, 95, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in his 63rd year of religious life. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Orlando & Felicia (Grego) DeLauro.

Br. Eugene was raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY, and served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps, just after WWII. He professed his first vows with the Sons of Mary Missionary Society in 1960, and his final vows in 1963.Br. Eugene served missions in Peru, Venezuela and the Philippines. He was a proud graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design in 1977. His love of art was evident throughout his life.

Besides his brothers in the Sons of Mary, Br. Eugene is survived by his sisters, Margaret Finn, Rose Licari, and Anna Massaro, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Orlando, John, Louise Fasano, and Marie Bate.

Family and friends will honor and remember Br. Eugene’s life by gathering for visiting hours at the Sons of Mary Missionary Society, 567 Salem End Rd. Framingham (white building at top of hill) on Sunday, July 23rd from 4-8PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning in St. Stephen Church, 221 Concord St. Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham.
