Paula J. (Slattery) Battaglia, 66, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Monday, May 15, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Paul & Beverly (Groehl) Slattery, and the beloved wife of Robert J. Battaglia.

Raised and educated in Framingham, Paula was a 1974 graduate of Framingham South High School, and later attended Fisher College. Paula started her own medical billing company that served local doctors’ offices, until she was offered the opportunity to run the offices herself. She ended her career as a Regional Manager of Quality Assurance for Genesis Healthcare.

Paula was a lifelong fixture on the sidelines of her kids’ and grandkids’ sports games. It didn’t matter if it was home or away, a field or a rink, Mom/Noni was there. She may not have been Italian, but she cooked like one, always trying new recipes at the family’s Monday Night Dinners. Her laugh will be missed most, as it nearly always ended in tears streaming down her face if something was really funny.

Besides her husband Robert, Paula is survived by her three children, Lauren Keohane & her husband Ryan of Framingham, Robert & his wife Noelle of North Reading, and Kristina Battaglia of Framingham; her grandchildren, Leo, Nolan and Giulia Keohane, Ace Maclean, and Kashton Brown; her sister in law and brother in law, Rita Whitten & her husband Carey, her nephews Chris Whitten & his wife Ashlie, and David Whitten all of Holliston; and her siblings, Robert Slattery, Timothy Slattery, Madonna Moore, and Jodie Schmeling, and many nieces and nephews.

Paula was predeceased by her brother Daniel Slattery.

Family and friends will honor and remember Paula’s life by celebrating her Funeral Mass on Monday morning, May 22nd in St. Stephen Church, 251 Concord St. Framingham at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Paula’s name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute: Women’s Cancer/Gynecologic Cancer, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445, www.dana-farber.org.
