Open Spirit Presents a New Family Food Garden Workshop Series: “Seed, Leaf, Root, Fruit”

May 1, 2023 – Framingham, MA – Open Spirit is excited to announce the launch of its new family workshop series called Seed Leaf Root Fruit. The first session of this fun and interactive program, titled “From Seed to Sprout – Germination Magic,” will be held on May 8th from 3:15-4:15pm at Open Spirit.
The workshop will be led by Tasty Harvests Food Garden Coach Safiyat Hamiss, who currently manages and teaches three children’s gardens through Open Spirit’s Nourishing Gardens project. This free workshop is designed to educate and engage families in the wonders of growing their own food, and all ages are welcome to attend. While registration is not required, it is appreciated to help us estimate needed supplies.
“Seed, Leaf, Root, Fruit” is grant-sponsored, making it accessible to everyone interested in learning about gardening and growing their own food. Open Spirit believes in the importance of providing accessible and inclusive programs that encourage community engagement and growth.
Open Spirit is located at 39 Edwards Street, next to the Stapleton School. The Nourishing Gardens project currently sponsors children’s gardens at Hoops and Homework and the Pelham Learning Center.
