FRAMINGHAM – Friends of Saxonville will host City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky at a community meeting in Saxonville on Tuesday, May 9.

The 7 p.m. meeting will happened at the Edwards Church Open Spirit Hall in the village center. 

All are invited to attend. Admission is free.

Refreshments will be served.

The Mayor’s remarks will address the future of Saxonville. 

Among the topics he will touch on will be the restoration of the historic Athenaeum Hall, the renewal of McGrath Square, the value of the federally designated Wild and Scenic Sudbury River to the city, and plans to make the riverside Carol Getchell Natural Trail and Reservation more accessible to individuals with disabilities.

2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Friends of Saxonville organization, which was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1998. 

The meeting will start promptly at 7 and will include a short presentation by Friends of Saxonville after the Mayor’s remarks.

Also following will be the business portion of our Annual Meeting, so Friends of Saxonville members should plan to attend if possible.

Edwards Church is located on Edwards Street off of Elm Street in Saxonville Village, behind Stapleton Elementary School. There is ample parking at Open Spirit Hall, which is handicapped accessible.

The mission of Friends of Saxonville is to educate the public about the special identity of Saxonville, an historic neighborhood of Framingham, and to preserve, enhance, and protect its cultural, economic, environmental and historical qualities.
