FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys lacrosse team won its home opener, yesterday, April 4.
Playing on the new Fuller turf field, the Flyers defeated the Tigers of Newton North 18-9.
“It is always nice to star the season with a win, but even better when your team is playing unselfish team lacrosse,” said Head Coach AJ Mulvey. “When we share the ball, good things happen on offense.”
Senior captain Bill Neiberger scored 7 goals and had 1 assist.
Davin Nichols scored 3 goals and had two assists.
Captain Justin Nichols scored 3 goals and had two assists.
Alex Treirweiler had two goals and an assist.
Owen Warren registered a goal and two assists.
Brendan Treacy and Brendan Peck each had a goal in the win.
“Our defense was sold holding the Tigers to 4 goals in the 4th,” said Coach Mulvey.
Cam Soave had 9 saves and Will Corton had 6 saves, said the head coach.
Framingham scored three goals in the first quarter, four goals in the second quarter, five goals in the third quarter, and five goals in the final quarter.
Captains this year for the Flyers are Neiberger, Justin Nicols, Soave, Treacy, and John Yerardi.
