BOSTON – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service out of Boston/Norton

As of 5:30 a.m. there is just rain with this nor’easter, but the federal weather agency said snow is coming.

But what MetroWest will get is side a wide range of 4 to a foot of snow.

Framingham Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay called for an early release of schools today at 4:50 a.m. today, march 14.

Ashland Superintendent of Schools Jim Adams did the same last night, March 13.

“Mixed precipitation changing to heavy wet snow. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph,” said the Weather Service at 4:30 a.m.

Travel could be very difficult especially across the high terrain and during the afternoon commute.

Heavy wet snow and strong wind gusts may result in downed tree limbs and power outages.
