BOSTON – The National Weather Service has upgraded it alert from a watch to warning for the forecasted nor’easter.

The warning is in effect from 8 p.m. tonight to 8 p.m. Wednesday night, March 15.

Heavy snow expected is expected said the federal weather agency out of Boston/Norton.

Total snow accumulations forecasted is 6 to 12 inches, with winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

The last two forecasted storms have been a bust with just an inch of two of snow, but forecasters say this one is different.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact both the morning and evening commutes on Tuesday.

Strong winds could cause tree damage.
