NATICK – Rita Walenduk, of Natick, formerly of Dover and Dorchester, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Born in Boston, she was the youngest child of Kostanty and Mary (Murawska) Walenduk. 

Rita graduated high school and completed three years of business school, earning an associates degree. 

She worked for the City of Boston School and Fire departments for 48 years, retiring at age 59. 

Rita’s hobbies were knitting, crocheting, and reading.  She liked to travel to far-off places such as Australia, Poland, and Alaska as well as not so far-off places such as Canada.

Rita had two siblings,  the late Anna (Walenduk) Phillips and Chester Walenduk .  Rita never married and is survived by her two nephews, Felix and Stanley Phillips, and her grand nephews: Benjamin, Kyle, and Mark, and her great-grand nephews and nieces: Josephine, Bronny, Luke, and Natalie. 

Family and friends will honor and remember Rita’s life by celebrating her Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, March 14th in Most Precious Blood Church, 30 Centre St., Dover at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.

Rita spent her final years at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mary Ann Morse Residents Activities Fund – Cedar Unit, 45 Union Street, Natick, MA 01760.
