MARLBOROUGH – Thrive Support & Advocacy, a nonprofit empowering youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, announced today the opening of a new community-based day support (CBDS) program, Triumph @ Thrive, that focuses on preparing individuals for employment opportunities.
“This program is all about building confidence and meeting the personal goals of participants through positive community experiences and the development of new relationships,” said Thrive President & CEO Sean Rose. “Participants will explore career options and volunteer opportunities, take part in recreational activities, and pursue personal interests and hobbies.”
“The program promotes full integration and inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the community,” Rose added. “With a focus on access and independence, many participants will develop pathways to stable employment.”

The CBDS program, funded through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), is a day program that provides individuals with the opportunity to learn skills needed to develop, increase and maintain their competence and confidence in work, personal and social settings. The structured, supervised program offers socialization and peer support. Participants will work on strengthening abilities through training and community-based activities, as well as development of independent living and interpersonal skills. Individuals are referred to the program by DDS.

The Marlborough-based nonprofit supports more than 600 individuals and families living in 47 eastern and central Massachusetts communities through recreational and social initiatives for youth and adults, community residences, and individual and family supports.
