FRAMINGHAM – Robert Anthony DeAngelis, age 83, died on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Care Dimensions in Lincoln.
Robert was born in Framingham to the late Anthony R. and Lucy (Celozzi) DeAngelis.
He was a lifelong resident of Framingham.
At the age of 20, he started his career, working with his father Anthony and grandfather Angelo Belmonte.
He had been a barber for 63 years before his retirement in 2022.
Robert owned and operated Center Barber Shop, the longest family barbershop in Framingham history, 3 generations and 93 years in the same location.
Many State Trooper classes passed through the Center Barber Shop and many of them remained loyal customers and friends throughout the years after graduation.
Robert enjoyed vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard and Aruba and spending time with his friends at “The Lake” in Newton, MA. He enjoyed watching the Patriots, Bruins and Celtics, horse racing and fishing. He especially enjoyed the holidays with his grandchildren.
He was a parishioner at St. Tarcisius Parish where he was active in many activities and functions. While a Boy Scout, he was awarded the Ad Altare Dei Cross medal. He played high school football where he made many lifelong friends.
He is survived by his daughter Maria Ardolino (husband Michael) of Wilbraham grandchildren Sarah Ardolino and David Ardolino; his son Robert DeAngelis (wife Juliet) of Wareham, grandchildren Renee DeAngelis, Gabriella DeAngelis, and Corinne DeAngelis. He is also survived by his siblings Richard DeAngelis (wife Roberta) of Framingham and Elizabeth Dalton (husband Edward) of Framingham; niece Alycia DeAngelis (Marc Hauser) and their son George, Christina DeAngelis, his Goddaughter (wife Sara Page) and their sons Max and Theo; niece Kate Dalton (husband Greg Quimby),niece Kara Dalton (Tim D’Onfro), niece Lauren McNair (husband Sean) and their sons Jack and Riley and Goddaughter, Rebecca Briggs as well as many cousins.
He is predeceased in death by his Grandmother Carmella and Grandfather Angelo Belmonte of Framingham and Grandmother Rose Celozzi of Milford.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at St. Tarcisius Parish (562 Waverley St., Framingham) at 10 a.m.
Burial to follow at St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 4-7PM at Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham
