ASHLAND – Due to the snowstorm on Tuesday, the normal collection of rubbish and recycling was pushed out one day.   It is a chain reaction.   This means the following:

Special:   Due to the snowstorm predicted for Saturday, Waste Management is not only collecting the rubbish and recycling for the regularly scheduled Thursday Route today – they are also running the trucks through tomorrow’s route.

Waste Management is trying to get ahead of the storm.  The plan is to service the Thursday route today (Friday) and to service the Friday route on Saturday.  Some residents have already placed their Saturday trash out today (Friday).  WM may be able to service these neighborhoods today (Friday).

Waste Management DOES plan on coming in tomorrow as well to service ALL of the modified Friday Route which is now scheduled for Saturday.

But if the weather does not permit them to – Waste Management will have to come back on Monday.  (TBD)

Below is a message from the WM Route Manager which may help with the confusion.

Good Morning

We did complete all of Wednesday’s routes. I put an extra truck out in Ashland to try and push ahead a bit being we have yet another storm headed this way Today into Saturday. We had great success, a lot of residents in Ashland did have Thursdays trash and recycle out at the curb so we collected that as well. With that said we will again today run thru Thursdays routes again to get the residents trash and recycle that followed the day delay then we will do the same thing and go into Friday. I am just trying to get ahead of the storm.

IF we end up closing tomorrow due to the storm we will  finish collecting Friday’s routes what on Monday.
