FRAMINGHAM – John J. (Jack) Dunn, 88, a lifelong resident of Framingham died Tuesday, February 28, 2023 after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Framingham.

He was the son of the late Harold & Louise (Harty) Dunn, and the beloved husband of the late Ginger (Rousseau) Dunn to whom he was married to for over 30 years.

A graduate of Framingham High School, John attended Newton Tech-Vocational School and then enlisted into the Army.

After serving his two year term, he married and settled in Framingham and then Ashland to raise his family. John worked several different jobs for a while before getting into construction, retiring as a construction foreman. 

There are just some people that are handy and John was one of them.  No project too big or small, he was always there to lend a hand. He was an avid New England sports fan. He loved a good crossword puzzle, old movies and binge watching the Blue Bloods series. He enjoyed many trips to Petersham Mass. where he had many fond memories as a child. He was a simple man who loved his family.  They came first!

John is survived by his children, Ronald & his wife Lori of Attleboro, Debra Dietz & her husband Edward of Hudson, and Maureen Laronga of Hudson, FL, his grandchildren, Brittany Palacios, Garrett and Cameron Dunn, Jeffrey, Justin and Alyssa Dietz, Kassidi Bozeman, Kelly and Gianna Laronga, his great grandchildren, Taylor Dietz, Jace Torci, Ariana, Aidan, Adrian and Kaia Bozeman also his sisters, Therese Galvin and Irene Leland, the mother of his children, Irma Dunn and many nieces and nephews.  

Besides his wife Ginger, John was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and Richard.

Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, March 6th from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.

. His Funeral Mass will follow in St. Matthew’s Church, 26 Highland St. Southborough at 11 o’clock

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Hopkinton.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in John’s name to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
