SPRINGFIELD – The Framingham State University women’s lacrosse team rallied in the fourth quarter, but Springfield College was able to hold off the Rams and secure a 21-14 victory in non-conference action this afternoon at Stagg Field.
- Records: Framingham State (1-1), Springfield (1-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game was tied 2-2 midway through the opening quarter with the Rams receiving goals from Leah Green and Hannah Guerin, but the Pride tallied three straight to close the frame and led 5-3 after one.
- The Rams used a pair of goals from Hailey Baker and a Guerin free position shot to tie the game at 5-5 just over four minutes into the second. Springfield closed the frame with a 5-0 run and led 10-5 at the half.
- In the third quarter the Pride used a 7-2 spurt to take a ten goal lead, 17-7, with just under five to play. Guerin and Green tallied late goals for the Rams and Lily Johnson scored for the Pride in the final minute making the score 18-9 after three.
- In the final stanza, the Rams closed the gap to six, 19-13, on a Baker free position shot, but the Pride was able to hold on for the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Framingham State received a combined nine goals from the duo of Green and Guerin. Guerin scored five, while Green scored four and added an assist.
- Baker finished the game with three goals, while Regan Fein scored once and picked up four assists.
- Isabella DiMare took the loss in net for the Rams, but made 11 saves.
