FRAMINGHAM – There is a stand out scheduled for Tuesday night, February 28 at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Memorial Building at 150 Concord Street in Framingham.

The purpose is to support the disability community, said organizer Jon Fetherston.

Members of the disability community are upset by remarks by Framingham Democratic Committee Chair Mike Hugo at the last City Council meeting on February 7.

The City Council meets again on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Building in the Blumer room.

Hugo said and wrote in a 4-page letter on Framingham Democratic Committee letterhead that special needs children should be aborted rather than be a burden to school committee budgets, said Fetherston.

Hugo has since apologized (on February 17) and the Framingham Democratic Committee has issued a statement as well.

SOURCE has received several letters to the editor on this issue.

Bring appropriate signs, friends and family to show your support, said Fetherston.
