CAMBRIDGE – Framingham High sophomore Brandon Liu set a Framingham High School swimming record at the MIAA Division 1 swimming & diving meet at MIT in Cambridge.

Brandon Liu swam the 100-yard freestyle in 59.53 seconds, which was a new Framingham High record.

His time placed him sixth.

The Massachusetts record is 53.81 seconds set by Andover High swimmer Nick D’Innocenzo in 2009.

Minnechaug senior Joshua Parent won the breaststroke event in 56.12 seconds. A trio of Boston College High swimmers places second, third, and fourth. They were all under 59 seconds.
