FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University women’s lacrosse team has been chosen to finished second in the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Lacrosse Preseason poll as voted on by the league’s coaches.

The reigning MASCAC Tournament Champion Rams received three first place votes and 45 total points which places them just two points behind conference favorite Westfield State with 47 points and the other five first place votes.

The Rams were 6-1 during conference action last season and look to repeat their success with reigning MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year attack Hannah Guerin.  Guerin closed out the regular season second in the league with 59 goals and a conference-leading 88 points. She also tallied 29 assists, 24 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and three draw controls.

Westfield State took the top spot in the poll ahead of the Rams.  Bridgewater State and Worcester State tied for the third spot, while Massachusetts Maritime claimed the fifth spot. The poll was rounded out by Salem State, Fitchburg State and MCLA in sixth, seventh and eighth.

The Rams open the 2023 season on February 22 at Wellesley College.
