BOSTON – The Framingham High boys indoor track & field team finished 17th overall at the MIAA Division1 track & field championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston yesterday.

Framingham High senior captain Sam Burgess won the 2-mile event in 9:06.34 minutes. That time broke the meet record dating back to 1981.

Burgess now has the fastest time recorded in the state this season, said head coach Chris Collins.

Bay State Conference foe Newton North Tigers was at the top of the leaderboard in Division 1 meet for teams, after the running events.

Bay State Conference rival Brookline High was 5th overall. Weymouth High, also in the Bay State Conference, was 8th overall.

Flyer Christian Marshall was 21st overall in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.45 seconds.
