SALEM – The Framingham State University men’s basketball team was defeated 73-58 Wednesday evening by Salem State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Twohig Gymnasium.     

Salem State improves to 8-17 overall and 5-7 in the MASCAC.

Framingham State drops to 2-9 in the Conference and 5-19 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams were led offensively by a double double from Juran Ligonde. Ligonde tallied a team-high 19 points on 8-of-18 from the floor and grabbed 15 boards. 
  • JD Okafor just missed a double double of his own as he tallied 17 points on 5-of-8 from the floor and added eight boards and two assists and a steal. 
  • Marshall Martin chipped in with 11 points off the bench for the Rams, while Josh Dumay chipped in with six points and four boards. 
  • The Vikings were led by a game-high 20 points and five rebounds from Chris MacDonald, while Conner Byrne chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds. 
  • Jarret Bryne tallied the lone double double of the game for the Vikings as he scored 11 and grabbed 10 boards. 
  • Both teams shot 41% from the floor in the game and the Vikings held a slim 41-39 edge in rebounds.
