FRAMINGHAM – Margaret A. (Chisholm) Savage, age 94, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, at her home after a period of declining health.

She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Savage, Jr.

Born in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Buckley) Chisholm.

Margaret was raised in Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School in 1946. 

She had a calling for healthcare and to care for people.

After graduating from Framingham School of Nursing in 1949 she became a Registered Nurse.  She then worked at Framingham Union Hospital for many years, and then at the former Kathleen Daniel Nursing home until her retirement.

She enjoyed Yoga and Tai Chi.  She was an avid reader and would seldom miss an episode of Judge Judy.   Her most relaxing time was spending time on Nauset Beach.

Margaret is the mother of Jack Savage of Natick, Susan Weisse of Sarasota, FL, Joan O’Neil and her husband Matthew of Lowell, Robert Savage and his wife Theresa of Georgetown and mother of the late Anne Haranas.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Caitlin (Weisse) Cardosa, Elizabeth Haranas, Matthew Haranas, Katie Haranas, Sam O’Neil, Kevin O’Neil, Gus Savage, and Lillian Savage; three great grandchildren; and her brother, Edward Chisholm of Millis and several nieces and nephews. 

She is the sister of the late Florence Chisholm.

At Margaret’s request, graveside services will be held at a later date.
