FRAMINGHAM – The developers interested in re-zoning a part of the Nobscot section of the City of Framingham held an informational meeting tonight at Historic Village Hall. More than 100 people attended the meeting, including seven of the 11 of the City Councilors.

Everyone who spoke did not support the proposal. Many complained about traffic concerns.

The developers have not filed the zoning change request with the City yet.

When filed, it will go before the 5-member Planning Board and then go before the 11-member City Council.

Since seven Councilors attended, none of them were allowed to speak as it would be an Open Meeting Law violation. City Council Vice Chair Janet Leombruno informed the crowd of that issue.

J&Co wants to re-zone about 26 acres in the NorthWest quadrant of the City for a proposed multi-family development, with retail. The multi-family development, which has not been filed with the City, would include senior living, townhouses, apartments, and retail.

SOURCE will have a full report and more photos on Tuesday.
