NATICK – Gloria A. (Tamagno) Cullati,passed away on February 1, 2023, at the age of 101.

Beloved wife of the late John Cullati.  Devoted mother of Peter J. Cullati of Danvers, Jane E. Higginson & her husband John of Natick, Maria G. Cullati & her partner Ralph E. Kelton of Natick and New York City, and the late John “Jackie” A. Cullati.  Dear sister of the late Lucy Amabile, Maria Tamagno, Armand Tamagno, Autora Tarello, and Caesar Tamagno.  Loving grandmother of Lucy Marsh & her husband Ian of Millis, & Emily Redbord & her husband Adam of Sherborn.  Caring great-grandmother of Mary and Gloria Marsh and Ruby & Teddy Redbord.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Proud member of Sons of Italy Francesco DeSanctis Lodge #1411, Natick. 

A lifelong resident of Hartford Street for 101 years, Gloria graduated from Natick High, Class of 1939, and continued as a volunteer with the Natick High School Class Reunion Committee for more than 70 years. 

She loved going to dances in her teenage years at the Clark Building in downtown Natick, and later at the Sons of Italy dinner dances where she was an active member for over 80 years, as well as a member of the Natick Women’s Club for 50 years, the Fairway Bowling League for 50 years, and St. Linus Parish. 

Gloria and her husband John owned Giovanni’s Restaurant in Framingham, where she enjoyed entertaining family and friends. 

An outstanding cook at home, she was well known for her legendary and famous polenta and chicken dinner, which she made well into her late 90s, she would reminisce about the good old days and would share family stories that she would pass on to the next generations.  She also loved gardening, doing the daily crossword puzzle, and antiquing; and she believed that hard work is the key to a long life.  In 1966 Gloria drove family and friends throughout Italy for two months in a Volkswagen bus!!  She also enjoyed trips to Rockport, Nantasket, Duxbury, and the Cape. 

Gloria had many lifelong friends, and would say:  “To have good friends, you have to be a good friend.” 

The family is eternally grateful for the loving care Gloria received from Gentiva Hospice, as well as the care provided by her general practitioner, Dr. Renata Martin, and the care she received from the Heart Center of Metrowest.  

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend funeral services at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick Common, on Tuesday, February 7, at 9 a.m.  Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick, at 10 a.m. 

Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick. 

Visiting hours are Sunday, February 5, from 5-8 p.m., and Monday, February 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gloria’s memory may be made to Francesco DeSanctis Lodge #1411, 37 Washington Avenue, Natick, MA  01760, Attn.:  Scholarship Committee.
