1 The National Weather Service said an arctic chill, that will last into Saturday afternoon, will bring extreme wind chills and possible power outages.

2. Due to these extreme temperatures, Framingham Public School students have no school today.

Keefe Technical High students do have school.

Christa McAuliffe Charter School students have no classes today.

With no school today for the public school district, all sporting events scheduled for tonight are cancelled.

3. Framingham Police Officer Kathy McGrath was awarded badge #1 yesterday in a ceremony. She is the longest serving member of the department.

McGrath is a School Resource Officer. She is pictured as the lead photo in this column with Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay who attended the ceremony yesterday.

4. There are no CITY of FRAMINGHAM meetings today.

City Hall will close today at 12:30 p.m.

The City of Framingham have partnered with SMOC for a shelter with cots and food to be available for those tonight in the extreme cold.

5. The band XRB will perform for the first time a the 4’s Sports Pub tonight. Music starts at 8 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.
