FRAMINGHAM – Both freshman Andrew Parnell and junior Maddy Reider scored 25 points each by finishing 24th in the third race this week for the Framingham High alpine ski team, said head coach Roni Sue Bower.

Parnell had a time of 23.41 and Reider had a time of 24.05

Each of them were within 1 second To 1.5 seconds from placing in the top 5.

They both raced incredibly fast. There are ways to make up sometime in next week’s race, said Coach Bower

In Race 4, Parnell already started to make up time as his time improved to 22.95 and he moved up to finish 22nd scoring 27 points for the team, said Coach Bower

Reider was trying to improve her time and gave it all she got and ended up crashing at the bottom of the course.

“I know that Maddie was disappointed but I also know that she was pushing it which is a good sign of how hungry she is,” said Coach Bower.

Madi Jones continued to be our consistent racer who is working hard to better her times. She earned 7 & 10 points respectively for the team, said Coach Bower.

This week there were a total of 12 teams competing and 90 girl racers and 90 boy racers.

“I am very happy with how we are progressing as a team.  With each race our new team members are gaining experience,”aid Coach Bower.

In the team standings the Framingham girls are ahead of Milton, Oliver Ames and Duxbury.

The Framingham boys are ahead of Westwood. Marblehead, Dover/Sherborn.
