BOSTON – The Framingham High boys indoor track & field team lost to Brookline High yesterday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

The Warriors won 68-32.

The highlights for Framingham were junior captain Matt Vilela and senior captain Sam Burgess, who captured 15 of the Flyers 32 points.

Vilela won the high jump and the shot put and finished 7th in the mile event.

He jumped 5 feet and 5 inches in the high jump, with Brookline taking second and third place at 5 feet 3 inches.

Vilela won the shot put with a throw of 41 feet.

Flyers swept that event with Calvin Hodge second at 37 feet and 6 inches, and Sebastian Seraphin third.

Burgess won the 2-mile race in 9:32.85 minutes. The next runner to cross the finish line was at 10:42.74 minutes.

Coach Chris Collins said it was great to have Vilela healthy and have Burgess back, but the lack of depth on the team cost the Flyers the win.

Framingham High is now 0-5 this season.

Jasen Jean-Louis captured second in the dash event for Framingham at 7.01 seconds.

Brookline’s Mark Tringas won the 55-meter event in 7.00 seconds.
