BROOKLINE – The Framingham High girls basketball team had a great road victory tonight, January 10, in Brookline.

The Flyers won 62-46.

“The beginning of the game started pretty rocky, as the Warriors started with a 17-2 run on us,” said Flyers Coach Kristen Fucarile. “After re-gathering ourselves in a timeout, we started to come back with poise and composure.”

Framingham led at halftime 33-28.

“We knew Brookline wasn’t going to give up and we needed to break their press, take care of the ball and work as a unit on defense. I was proud of the adjustments and fight these ladies had. It was great seeing young talent like freshmen Grace Hanna dominate the boards and lead us with 11 rebounds. She also contributed 7 points,” said the Flyers head coach.

“Senior Katie Regan led Framingham in points with 20,” said Coach Fucarile.

“Senior Selina Monestime set the pace of the game with her well-rounded 10 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals,” said Coach Fucarile.

Sophomore Allie Regan was a solid contributor with 16 points for the Flyers

“When she finds a path to the rim it’s a beautiful sight,’ said Coach Fucarile.

“Monestime is currently 6 points away from 1,000 points. We play Newton South on Friday at 6:30 p.m. We would love for the community to come out and support the team and cheer Selina on as she crosses this huge milestone,” said the Flyers head coach.

Framingham is now 6-4 overall.
