LINCOLN, RHODE ISLAND – One person was killed and two others were hospitalized for serious injuries after a crash in Rhode Island earlier this morning, December 31.

On Dec. 31 at about 2:30 a.m., Rhode Island State Police and the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a crash on Route 146 North.

Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the attenuator head-on. The driver was later arrested.

The passenger in the front seat of the car died. he has been identified as William Molloy, 22, of Ashland.

The driver and a rear seat passenger both were taken to a Rhode Island Hospital for serious injuries.

The driver, identified by Police as Christopher Vincent, 25, of Watertown, Massachusetts was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, death resulting; driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, serious bodily injury; driving to endanger, death resulting, and riving to endanger, resulting in personal injury.
