FRAMINGHAM – The co-ed Framingham High gymnastics team will open the season in 2023.

Twenty-two gymnasts tried out for the Framingham High team.

“We will keep all 22 members,” said Head Coach Sandra Maier. “A few will not  be ready to compete this year, 3 are managers, and 4 will probably compete for JV spots.”

There are four captains, including one male gymnast.

The captains are: Olivia Jones, Kevin Theodoro, Angie Leung, Phoebe Savas.

All four captains have been on varsity since they were freshman.

Jones competes all-around said Coach Maier.

Theodoro competes all-around but mostly beam, floor, and vault, said the Coach.

“We actually have  to comment on the top-4 AA gymnasts that are returning.  Two are senior captains Olivia Jones and Kevin Theodoro.  The other two are Junior Maggie Spring and sophomore Olivia Lane.”

The first meet is Tuesday, January 10 against Newton North High at home at Shen’s Gymnastics in Holliston. The Flyers home meets are all in Holliston.
