FRAMINGHAM – The interim Executive Director of the Christa McAuliffe Charter school is resigning, due to personal reasons.

“Due to an ongoing and worsening situation at home, I have had to make the incredibly difficult decision to resign from my position as Interim Executive Director at McAuliffe. I have loved working at McAuliffe and have grown to sincerely care about your wonderful children. I did not make this decision lightly and if I honestly thought I had another option, I would have taken it to stay at McAuliffe. Unfortunately, sometimes life throws us challenges that demand that we put our personal preferences aside and take action to care for our families,” wrote Frederick Randall this afternoon to families.

“There is an incredibly skilled and committed leadership team, teachers and staff in place at McAuliffe. I have every confidence that your child(ren) will not suffer any negative impact on their learning experiences each day,” wrote Randall this afternoon, December 21.

Randall was named interim executive director this school year 2022-23.

“McAuliffe’s Board of Trustees will be meeting the week after the holiday break to discuss plans to find my replacement, in the meantime it will be business as usual for the daily operation,” wrote Randall to families.

“I have notified staff and will be sharing the news with your children during crew time in the morning. It is very important to me that all community members understand that my decision has nothing to do with dissatisfaction or dislike for any aspect of McAuliffe. My message to students will reassure them that I care deeply for them and the school but have to face the emergency at my home,” wrote Randall to families today just after 3:30 p.m.
