FRAMINGHAM – The Department of Student Registration at Framingham Public Schools invites caregivers with incoming Kindergarten students to attend the annual Kindergarten Information Night on January 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fuller Middle School.

“We are so excited to welcome caregivers back to an in-person Kindergarten Information event after hosting it virtually for two years due to COVID.” said Mikaele Neves, Director of Student Registration. “At this event families will learn about the Kindergarten experience and learn the details around the controlled school choice process. In addition to a short presentation and a video, families will have the chance to speak with District Administration and Departments to learn about various resources available to them in Kindergarten and beyond. This is a great opportunity for families to get all of their questions answered in one place. We understand the registration process can be overwhelming for those that are new to Framingham Public Schools and we want to ease any and all concerns. In addition, families will get to see the brand new Fuller Middle School and the Chris Walsh Performing Arts Center. We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2036 and to the start of our journey together.”

Following the 6 p.m. presentation, attendees can walk through the cafeteria at Fuller Middle School to meet and speak with representatives from Special Education, Transportation, Multilingual Education, School Health Services, ECAF (Early Childhood Alliance of Framingham), Before and After School Programs, Citywide PTO, and other Community Partners.

The presentation portion of the event will be broadcast live in English for those who cannot attend in-person. While the live meet and greet cannot be replicated virtually, the District will share trilingual videos for caregivers to learn about FPS Departments. Spanish and Portuguese speaking interpreters and staff will be on-site for the event.

The Kindergarten pre-registration process began in November for families with children who will be five years old by August 31, 2023. Anyone who has not yet completed the online pre-registration can do so by following the registration steps listed on the Kindergarten Registration Website

All new incoming Kindergarteners must be registered – even if they have siblings currently attending Framingham Public Schools.
