SPRINGFIELD – Pope Francis High School defeated the Framingham High boys varsity hockey team Thursday night 9-2.

The Cardinals had a 3-0 lead after the first period and a 7-2 lead after the second period.

The Flyers won their season opener against Natick High on Wednesday night.

Framingham is now 1-1, under head coach Dan Riva.

The Flyers have their home open on Saturday night against the Tigers of Newton North High School at 7.

The boys hockey team and the Framingham Police have teamed up for a Toys for Tots toy drive. Attendees are asked to bring a new toy for a boy or girl to the Cram the Cruiser event.
