FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls indoor track & field team dropped its season opener meet to the Tigers of Newton North yesterday, December 15, at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston

The Tigers won 68-28.

Despite the loss, 2 Flyers had the fastest times in the Bay State Conference – Abby Desmarais, in the 300-meter and Sasha Lamakina in the mile, said Coach Chris Collins.

The Tigers swept the dash event.

Desmarais won the 300 in 40.98 seconds. Flyer teammate Joanna Ball finished second in 43.49 seonds.

Flyer Ella Terranova won the 600-meter event in 1:47.94 minutes.

Lamakina won the mile in 5:19.04 minutes.

Tigers swept the 2-mile event.

Framingham won the mile relay.

Flyer Marie Scanlon finish third in the high hurdles in 10.03 seconds.

Framingham’s Tija Dilba finished third in the high jump with a leap of 4-feet, 6-inches.

Tigers swept the long jump and the shot put events.

The Flyers are now 0-1, under head coach Ed Crowley. The next meet is Thursday, December 22 against Wellesley High at 4:50 p.m. at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
