FRAMINGHAM – Less than two year with the City of Framingham, the Community Health Coordinator has left.

Today was Kimberly Rivas’ last day with the Framingham Health Department.

Hired in March 2021, she chaired the City of Framingham’s Age & Dementia Friendly Coalition.

“Working with you all over the last (almost) 2 years has been a great experience. The work being done in Framingham is so important and I truly hope you all continue to push forward,” wrote Rivas to members of the Coalition.

AARP accepted the City of Framingham into the age-friendly network in October of 2021.

Mayor Charlie Sisitsky recently hired William Murphy, who has been the Director of Public Health in Sudbury since September 2014, to be Framingham’s new Health Director. Murphy was the health agent for the Town of Wayland for three years from September 2011-2014. The City Council unanimously approved his 3-year appointment.

Murphy replaces former Health Director Alex DePalo who resigned earlier this year to head up a food pantry.

In October 2022, the City of Framingham promoted its Chief Environmental Health Officer Robin Williams to become the new Assistant Health Director.

The City has yet to replace the City’s Public Health Nurse, who retired earlier this year.

Christopher Delude, the City’s Community Health Manager, is expected to worked with the Coalition until a new person is hired to replace Rivas.
