FRAMINGHAM – Robert J. Insani, 88, a longtime resident of Plainville, and formerly Framingham and Franklin, died Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Born in Torrington, CT, he was the beloved son of Charles and Mary (Bardetti) Insani.

Bob moved with his family to Framingham at the age of five, and graduated from Framingham High School in 1952, and later Newton Technical Vocational School.

His first job, as an electronic technician, was with Engineering Model Lab in Ashland. He later held jobs at Universal Match Corp., Ewen Knight Corp, and spent 29 years with the Foxboro Company where he held positions of Manager of Quality Control, Quality Control Engineering and Documentation Control. He was instrumental in bringing ISO-9001 to the Foxboro Co. by developing procedures and writing its quality control manual.

He also worked for a time as a meatcutter at Ken’s Steakhouse eventually spending his last working years with them as a Quality Control Manager.

He also spent 8 years with the Framingham National Guard, 26th Quartermaster Division.

Bob was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, and a day well spent at the race track. He built sets of golf clubs for his friends and was even able to sell a few. What Bob valued in life most was his family; he was always excited about the once a month coffee sessions and the best Thanksgiving dinners in Framingham.

In his later years, his favorite day of the week was Thursday, thanks to visits with his granddaughter, Alex.

Bob is survived by his children Kristen of Milford, and Robert & his wife Angela of Attleboro, his granddaughter, Alexandra, his sister, Alma Haines of Framingham, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Egasti, Edith Zanella, and Norma Fenno.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bob’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, December 19 from 9-10:30 a.m.

His Funeral Mass will follow in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly St. Framingham at 11 o’clock.

Interment St. Tarcisius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Bob’s name to the charity of your choice.
