FRAMINGHAM – Portions of downtown Framingham, including the Memorial Building, are without power this morning, as of 8 a.m.

Eversource is brining in a “monster generator” to light up City Hall for the day, while they fix the problem said Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky this morning to SOURCE.

The Mayor said sometime in the middle of the night the power went off, and the police station had to go on a generator.

“I’m told the Police Station had its power restored and is off generator,” said the Mayor to SOURCE around 8:15 a.m.

“City Hall is on a generator but it only handles a small load, thus Eversource is bringing in a monster generator,” said the Mayor.

“Our crews are in downtown Framingham working to make repairs to a cable, which caused an outage affecting 42 customers just after 3 a.m. Monday. Those customers will be switched to generator power while our crews complete this work as quickly as safely possible,” said Eversource spokesperson Chris McKinnon.
