FRAMINGHAM – Mary C. (McLaughlin) Delaney, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Sunday, November 20, 2022.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur & Margaret (Coughlin) McLaughlin, and the beloved wife of Richard F. Delaney.

Mary grew up in Somerville and after high school, worked for Dorothy Muriel Cakes, and was hired at Shawmut Bank as a secretary and ended up being called to do their commercials. She met the love of her life Richard, they married and started a family, and settled in Framingham in 1964. 

 She worked as a crossing guard at Walsh Middle School for 30 years.

Mary enjoyed trips to Maine and Gloucester where she would indulge in her love of seafood, particularly lobster. She enjoyed sports, watching the Red Sox was that much sweeter when she was with her family on Sunday afternoon.

Mary loved her family, and took care of them all with love and pride, her husband, Richard F., her children, Ricky of Natick, Carol Hartz of Milford, and William & his fiancé Lynn Dadekian of Worcester, her grandson Ryan Hartz of Milford, several nieces and nephews, and close group of dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Bill & Herb McLaughlin.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mary’s life by celebrating her Funeral Mass on December 9 in St. George Church, 74 School St., Saxonville at 10 o’clock.

Interment will take place privately.
