ASHLAND – Cindy L. Walsh, 64, died November 26, 2022, after a courageous year-long battle with GI cancer.

Daughter of the late Paul E. Murphy and late Nancy (Jennings) Murphy of Needham, Cindy is predeceased by her dear husband, Brian J. Walsh of Hopkinton. She leaves behind her daughters Kirstin Click & husband David of Upton, Kelly Burke & husband Michael of Needham, & Kara Francis and husband Zac of Adelaide, Australia and her five beloved grandchildren Brian, Esme, Evie, Lila, and Liv. She also leaves behind her brother, Paul. E. Murphy Jr & wife Karin Murphy of Chester, NH, and many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Cindy was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1976 and spent time in the Army as a dental assistant.

After raising her girls, Cindy continued her career as a dental assistant for 23 years working for Dr. Rosenthal, Dr. Rubin, & Dr. Silva in Ashland, who along with her co-workers, she considered her second family.

What Cindy cherished most in life was being a Mimi to her grandbabies. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Dana Farber Cancer Institute and extends their gratitude to Dr. Peter Enzinger and NP Michael Casey in addition to her larger care team.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 20 Church Street in Hopkinton followed by a burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Hopkinton.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, Dec. 5 from 4-7 p.m. in the Matarese Funeral Home of Ashland.
