FORT DEVENS – The MIAA state championship meets were held today, November 19 at Fort Devens.

Framingham High freshman Sasha Lamakina finished 75th overall in the MIAA Division 1 meet, said Athletic Director Paul Spear.

She was the only Flyer to qualify for the meet.

Cambridge sophomore won the Division 1 5K race in 18:12.97 minutes.

Needham High freshman Greta Hammer finished second in 18:16.73 minutes.

Wellesley High freshman Abigail Beggans was third at 18:29.34 minutes.

In Division 2, Holliston junior Carmen Luisi won the race in 18:27.37 minutes.

Framingham did not have enough runners to qualify for the team competition.

But a trio of Bay State Conference teams – Brookline, Wellesley, & Needham, all were in the top five for Division 1 in the State.

Brookline won the team competition with 90 points. Wellesley High was second with 103 points, Cambridge was third with 137 points, Oliver Ames fourth, and Needham High Rockets were fifth with 195 points.
