FRAMINGHAM – MassBay Community College President David Podell received the Peter Barbieri Service Above Self Award from the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce tonight.

The award was one of a half dozen presented at the 127th Annual Annual Meeting at the Verve in Natick.

Podell, who is leaving the Chamber Board, was its president during the pandemic.

he has been President of Mass Bay Community College for 6 years. The College has its main campus in Wellesley, with a satellite campus in Framingham and in Ashland. The College is construction its first ever building in Framingham on Franklin Street. It is scheduled to open in January 2024.

The MetroWest Chamber has grown during the pandemic to more than 500 members.

Presenting the Award to Podell was MetroWest Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Jim Giammarinaro and Senate President Karen Spilka.

Spilka was the keynote speaker for the Chamber’s event.
