AMHERST – UMass Amherst senior Ben Burgess closed out his season at the NCAA Division 1 Northeast regional meet at Van Cortlandt Park in New York on Veterans day, November 11.

Burgess finished 109th out of more than 225 runners on the 10K course. His time was 31.52.4 minutes.

He was the second fastest runner for UMass Amherst, which finished 17th out of 33 teams.

This was Ben’s last cross country meet as an undergrad.

He is scheduled to compete for the UMass track & field indoor season next.

At the  Atlantic 10 Championships at Pole Green Park Burgess finished 67th overall in 25:46.6 minutes.

UMass Amherst finished 9th out of 15 schools.

In October, University of Massachusetts men’s cross country won its sixth New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.

Burgess placed third for the Minutemen and claimed 22nd overall in 25:26.
