FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls swim & dive team finished in 7th place at the MIAA North Sectional swim meet over the weekend.

Next up for some of the Flyers is the state meet on Sunday, November 13.

Junior Ashwina Bangari finished 4th overall for the Flyers. Her time was 1:03.46 minutes. Wellesley senior Naomi Boegholm won the event in 55.80 seconds. Bangari attends

Bangari transferred to the Massachusetts Academy of Math & Science in Worcester from Framingham High this year, but since the Academy has no swim team, she received a waiver to compete still for Framingham High.

Sophomore Marie Scanlon finished 9th in the sprint event. Her time was 26.36 seconds. Framingham senior Emma Angelo finished 11th in 26.68 seconds. Wellesley junior Anna McGrew won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.06 seconds.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Scanlon finished 10th overall in 57.53 seconds. Angello also swam in the event and finished 21st in 1:00.5 minutes.

Framingham placed two divers in the top 16 at sectionals.

Brookline junior Jaqui St. Clair won the diving with 409.2 points

Framingham Junior Emily Richardson finished 8th overall with 344.25 points. Teammate Kat Barry, another junior, finished 13th overall in 324.75 points.

Framingham finished 6th overall in the sprint relay. Swimmers Scanlon, Angelo, Bella Bowen, and Emma Bowen touched the wall in 1:48.55 minutes in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Flyers medley relay finished in 7th place. Wellesley won the event in 1;49.58 minutes.

Framingham swimmers on the replay were sophomore Amy Dipasquale, Scanlon, Junior Bangari, and senior Angelo.

Sophomore Sasha Tsizer finished 12th overall in the distance event. Her time in the 500-yard freestyle was 5:47.51 minutes.

Needham junior Chloe Wukitch won the event in 5:28.13 minutes

Tsizer finished 14th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.36 minutes.

Natick junior Ava Wong won the 100-yard backstroke event in 58.13 seconds. Bangari for Framingham finished in 8th place in 1:02.32 minutes.

Framingham finished in 9th in the final event of the meet – the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Swimmers Emma Bowen, Tsizer, Bella Bowen, and Bangari touched the wall in 4:02.12 minutes.
