FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be conducting overnight construction operations at the Route 9 and Route 126 ramps. The work will require temporary overnight ramp closures and detours during the nights of Sunday, October 30, Monday, October 31. The schedule and detours will be as follows:  

Sunday, October 30

  • In the Evening Sunday, October 30, the Route 9 eastbound off-ramp (to Route 126 southbound) and the on ramp (from Route 126 southbound) will be closed from 9 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. During the work, traffic traveling on Route 9 eastbound will be directed to use the Caldor Road intersection to Route 30/Cochituate Road. Traffic traveling on Route 126 southbound looking to access Route 9 eastbound will be directed to use Concord Street/Route 126 northbound.
  • Overnight on Sunday, October 30, the Route 9 eastbound on and off ramps from Concord Street will be closed from 11:59 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following morning. Traffic traveling on Route 9 eastbound will be directed to use Caldor Road. Traffic traveling on Route 126 northbound looking to access Route 9 will be directed to use Route 30 to Caldor Road.

Monday, October 31

  • In the evening, Monday, October 31, the Route 9 westbound on and off ramps to and from Route 126 northbound will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. During the work, traffic on Route 9 westbound will be directed to use the Route 30/Cochituate Road ramp. Traffic traveling on Route 126 northbound will be directed to use Route 30(Cochituate Road) to Caldor Road.
  • Overnight on Monday, October 31, the Route 9 westbound on and off ramps to and from Beacon Street/Fairbanks Street will be closed between the hours of 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following morning. During the work, traffic traveling on Route 9 westbound will be directed to the Rte. 30/Cochituate Road ramp. Traffic traveling on Rte.126 northbound will be directed to Route 30/Cochituate Road to Caldor Road and traffic traveling on Route 126 southbound will be directed to take Route 9 eastbound and reverse direction at the Caldor Road signal.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.  

   

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
