FRAMINGHAM – The Walden School at The Learning Center for the Deaf was one of five schools in Massachusetts chosen to participate in the Massachusetts Farm to School Institute 2022-2023.

The Learning Center for the Deaf is located in Framingham.

The Institute provides an opportunity to develop a Farm-to-School program on campus.

The Institute began with a two-day fall kickoff at Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester. During the retreat, the participants developed a comprehensive school-wide Farm to School Action Plan that includes curriculum, local procurement, utilizing outdoor learning spaces, and cultivating family and community connections.

The participants from Walden School were Samantha Bulewich, Natasha Rausch, Nate Joslin and Raymond Rodgers.

Walden School is a nationally-recognized residential therapeutic and education program for deaf children and youth ages 8 to 22. To learn more, visit TLCDeaf.org/walden
