SPRINGFIELD – The Framingham State University women’s cross country team was back on the course with a strong showing Saturday morning as they finished in second place at the Western New England Invitational. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams secured the second place finish with 60 total points finishing behind Smith College who won the meet. 
  • The Rams saw two runners place in the top ten. Emily Newcomb led the way with her fifth place finish, completing the 6k course in a time of 24:59, while Meghan Johnston finished in seventh at 25:24.

  • Olivia Poole and Camille Carvalho finished 13th and 14th respectively for the Rams with times of 25:50 and 25:53. 
  • Amdanda Bedard and Kammarie Pelland were the next two Rams to cross at 26:42 and 26:44. Elizabeth Dykstra rounded out the top seven for the Rams crossing at 27:27. 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams are off next week but are back in action on October 29, at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Westfield State University.
