FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State’s Isabella Kondi scored a goal in the 43rd minute to lead the Rams to a 1-0 victory over Salem State in Little East Conference field hockey action Thursday evening at Maple Street Field.    

Framingham State improves to 8-5 overall and  4-4 in LEC

Salem State sinks to 4-8 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • In the 43rd minute the Rams had a penalty corner that was sent in by Brandi Core. Kondi settled at the top of the arc and sent a strike toward the cage through traffic that tucked inside the right post for the games lone score.  
  • Angelina Barrett earned the win in goal for the Rams while Ashley Yebba took the loss for the Vikings making four saves. 
  • The Rams were led by Corlene Guenard’s three shots, all on net. 
  • Melanie Mason led the Vikings with three shots while Hannah Cochran registered the lone shot on net for Salem.  
  • The Rams outshot Salem 8-to-5 overall and have four penalty corners to the Vikings one.  

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 15, when they travel to Keene State for Little East play.

The Vikings host Castleton on Wednesday, October 19th at 6 p.m.
