FRAMINGHAM – The Flyers defeated the Redhawks in a rain-soaked battle this afternoon, October 13 at Fuller Middle’s turf field.

Ava Callahan scored the lone goal for the Flyers, about 20 minutes into the game. Callahan’s shot came off a corner from Gabby Arpino.

Natick nearly scored with a minute left in the first half.

Natick took a shot from the box. The ball that rebounded off Framingham goalie Lilly Vermilya. Summer Haarala ran back towards the net and kicked the ball out, just inches from the goal line.

At halftime the score was 1-0 Framingham, and the game ended with the same score.

Callahan dominated on defense in addition to scoring the game winning goal.

Natick was #5 in the MIAA power rankings headed into Thursday’s game. The Redhawks are now 8-2-1.

Framingham improves to 6-3-1. The Flyers were ranked #17 in the MIAA power rankings for Division 1 teams.
